미국은 대학교육을 시키기 위한 준비과정으로 대학에서 영어를 가르치면서 영어 교육이 발전하였고 현재도 사설보다는 대학 부설 학교 중심으로 외국인에 대한 영어 교육이 활발하게 진행되고 있다.
