University of Exeter – Excellent Reputation
The University of Exeter is one of the UK’s most popular universities with around eight applications for every undergraduate place. Tracing its history back to various educational bodies created in the mid 1800s the University was awarded its own Charter (and degree awarding powers) in 1955.
Exeter is consistently ranked amongst the UK’s top 20 universities and our growing international reputation is highlighted by our inclusion in the world’s Top 200 universities. As you would expect from a leading research-led University our strengths encompass the full range of academic disciplines from science and technology to social sciences and humanities. 19 of our subjects are ranked in their respective top 10 according to either or both the Times Good University Guide 2011 or The Guardian 2011 rankings. Perhaps most importantly Exeter has one of the highest National Student Survey rankings in the country, being in the Top 10 for overall student satisfaction since the survey began.
